Abstract. Due to the digitalization of all aspects of society and the processes of transformation of education, largely related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the introduction of digital technologies into the educational process of higher education institutions is a necessary requirement of modern life. This article is devoted to the analysis of the use of digital technologies in higher education on the example of one of the leading universities in the Tula region – Tula State Pedagogical University named after L.N. Tolstoy. Therefore, the analysis method was chosen by the authors of the article as the main research method. The article focuses on the consideration of the following digital technologies and their application in the higher education system: 1) Development and implementation in Russian of online courses of bachelor’s, specialist’s, master’s and postgraduate courses based on the new MOODLE of Tolstoy State Pedagogical University; 2) Application of the base of the new MOODLE of Tolstoy State Pedagogical University for the implementation of creative, competitive events (Olympiads); 3) Application of services in the educational process video-telephone communication and videoconferencing for holding various mass events in videoconferencing (VCS) mode; 4) The use of digital technologies in the educational process on the example of interactive forms of classes, the introduction of media pedagogy. The novelty lies in the fact that all the digital technologies under consideration are not only theoretical author’s developments of teachers of the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies, among whom the authors of this article belong, but also have practical testing on students of all forms and levels of education. Their application in a pedagogical university is currently necessary for the organization of hybrid and distance education.
