Abstract. Children show pride in their native land and are interested in its features, such as remarkable natural monuments. By studying the local region, they establish links with the natural environment and participate in the study of the characteristics of the territory. In school local lore, it is important to subordinate local lore work to educational tasks, the acquisition by students of information about their region, a moral and socially useful orientation, the effective use of the research method, as well as the correspondence of the content and methods of local lore work to the level of development of students. The program for the formation of knowledge about nature in extracurricular activities is aimed at developing creativity, independence and analytical abilities of students. It is important to study the basic concepts of nature and conduct practical scientific research. The active participation of students in the study of natural resources is of significant educational importance. It helps to develop research skills, get carried away with observing natural phenomena and broaden your horizons. It is also important to organize classes on the ground and conduct hikes so that students can directly explore the environment and discover unexplored natural objects. Educating the younger generation through familiarization with the natural and cultural heritage is an effective way to form a personality. This article provides an example of a program plan for the study of swamps, including a systematization of the material, a description of vegetation, surface and types of swamp, as well as an illustrative example of the characteristics of large swamps of the Salavatsky district of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Students participate in this research process, which contributes to their development and education of morality, as well as strengthening the link between education and fundamental science.

Keywords: native land, geographical local history, extracurricular work, swamps, Republic of Bashkortostan.
