Abstract. The purpose of the article is to clarify the mechanisms of formation of a subjective position as the basis for the professional education of students. The article examines the challenges of modern society to the training of professional personnel. The importance of professional education of students is analyzed and the need to form its system in a university is specified. As an adequate response to the process of formation of personal and professional qualities, it seems necessary to develop a concept, model and system of professional education of students through the development of their subjectivity. The author relies on different points of view on the importance of forming the subjective position of students during their education at the university. The work presents at a theoretical level the stages of formation of the subjective position of students, gives recommendations on the conditions, which are the objects of professional education, which contribute to the effective formation of the subjectivity of the student’s personality. Material is presented regarding the construction of a process based on educational training and educational education at a university. The relevance of the work is related to the need to improve the process of professional students, taking into account the characteristics of modern youth and the spread of digital transformation of all spheres of society, including professional fields of activity. The author analyzes the possibilities of educational work with students in the context of growing requirements for activities in the form of multitasking, high mobility, rapidly changing information and its increasing volumes, and developing technologies. As a conclusion, the authors recommend building the process of professional education of students using means and methods that specifically influence the development of the subject position of young people.
