Abstract. The problem of training the personnel of secondary vocational medical education is a multidimensional one. It is necessary not only to prepare them to solve professional tasks, but also to form what is called functional competence. One of the components of this kind of competence is financial and digital literacy. Financial literacy will allow an individual to navigate in the world of financial services and services provided, not to become the object of financial fraud and not to be subjected to the risk of being cheated. Digital literacy enables a medical school graduate not only to use digital technologies in everyday life, but also to effectively address professional tasks aimed at improving the quality of medical services. The need for the formation of digital and financial literacy has been repeatedly noted by many researchers and confirmed by us in the course of the ascertaining experiment. The main goal of our study was to develop a course on financial and digital literacy for students of medical colleges and faculties of secondary professional medical education. Using the results of summarizing the responses of experts in these subject areas to the questions of a semi-structured interview and cross-sectional survey, we identified the topic and sections of the course, the most effective forms and methods of teaching, the place and scope of the discipline “Fundamentals of Financial and Digital Literacy”. According to experts, the content of the discipline should consist of such topics as “The importance of digitalization of health”, “Digital services and systems”, “Artificial Intelligence Systems”, “Banks. Banking Services”, “Risks in the World of Money: How to Protect Yourself from Ruin”. Brainstorming, practice-oriented and situational approaches were determined to be the most effective methods of training.
