Abstract. The study is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the possibilities of working with the concept of “team interaction” within the educational process. The authors focus on the importance of social interaction, understanding the role and benefits of teamwork and the ability to establish effective interaction in a small group within the framework of training. This interest is connected with the demand for such a skill in future professional activity. The paper states that, being a kind of “soft skill”, teamwork is provided as a component of universal competence regulated by federal state educational standards for students to master. Based on the methods of pedagogical experiment and observation, as well as a survey of students, the researchers sought to find a correlation between the mechanism of formation of a small study group, the qualitative characteristics of the members of the working team and the teamwork practices used by students. The study showed that in the case of determining the composition of participants in a group educational project based on the mutual choice of students, the effectiveness of their work both in the process of completing the task and at the stage of evaluating the final result increases. Part of the study contains an analysis of the specifics of communication in the course of teamwork and the problems of leadership in the work team. Thus, the survey showed that in the course of teamwork, students are able to conclude about the contribution of each of the participants to achieving a common goal and react sharply to the manifestation of unequal participation, unequal distribution of time devoted to the project. For the formation of team interaction skills, it is necessary to actively apply group work methods even during the training process so that graduates who are able to work effectively not only individually, but also in a group format are sent to enterprises.

Keywords: social interaction, small group, team, teamwork skills, online learning, pedagogical techniques, universal competencies.
