Abstract. Today, in the management system of an industrial enterprise, one of the strategic tasks is to ensure high quality products that meet regulatory requirements, as well as the needs of consumers, the maximum focus on which significantly increases the manufacturer’s chances to compete with other market participants. In this regard, enterprises need to pay special attention to the control system, including the organization of the work of the relevant structural units, the creation of the necessary infrastructure and the use of modern methodologies in the field of quality management, including process optimization. The introduction of modern management tools will not only save money, but, above all, will contribute to a continuous increase in consumer satisfaction and improve the quality of products. One of the key elements in the control system is the production laboratory. In this connection, the purpose of this study is to identify priority areas and methodologies for improving the laboratory of one of the Russian industrial enterprises. The article substantiates the importance of using quality management tools with the help of which the problems in the laboratory are identified, as well as recommendations for their elimination, including the use of lean manufacturing methodologies. The implementation of these measures will improve the laboratory’s activities and ensure the achievement of the set production objectives.
