UNIVERSITY TRAINING OF FUTURE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY SPECIALISTS: ESSENCE AND CHARACTERISTICS

Abstract. This article is devoted to the definition of the essence and features of the university training of a future specialist in the field of occupational safety. The relevance of the research topic is due to the rapid development of science and technology, the transformation of economic and business processes, resulting in fundamentally new jobs, professions and types of production activities. All these innovations from the point of view of occupational safety can carry new dangerous and harmful factors, which is a problematic field of occupational safety and university training of future specialists in this field. The results of the study are presented, which include the definition of university training based on the analysis and synthesis of modern scientific domestic and foreign sources (a process aimed at the formation of professional knowledge, skills, competencies, value bases, professionally significant personal qualities and readiness for future professional activity in a future specialist). The structural components of the university training process (targeted, substantive, organizational-activity, diagnostic-effective), their boundaries and interrelationships are determined. Based on the analysis of scientific sources and the regulatory framework, the content of the components of the university training of a future specialist in the field of occupational safety is determined, justified through such approaches as systemic, competence-based, activity-based and personality-oriented. The definition of university training of a specialist in the field of occupational safety is given (a process aimed at forming a student’s system of competencies, professionally significant knowledge, skills, personal qualities, occupational safety values and readiness to perform labor functions to ensure the functioning of the occupational safety management system, prevent occupational accidents and diseases, reduce exposure to harmful and dangerous production factors and occupational risk management). The results obtained will be used for further research on this topic.
