THE EFFECTIVE MECHANISMS OF THE FUTURE FIGURE SKATING COACHES COMPETITIVENESS DEVELOPMENT

Abstract. The success of a coach relies heavily on the continuous improvement of his/her professional knowledge and on technical skills that are developed from his/her previous experience as an athlete. Self-development is at the heart of improving the competitiveness of coaches. The criteria of effective self-development of coaches are: development of creative abilities, focus on self-improvement. The effectiveness of a coach’s work is a product of complex interaction of these qualities. In the system of education of coaches there is a clear structure of education, assuming complex development of these qualities. In the system of coaches’ education there is a constant search for new innovative means of training, which will contribute to increasing the effectiveness of this process. In the course of our research we have formed a set of programmes for the professional development of figure skating coaches. The assessment of the level of formation of the component of professional competence of the instructor-teacher was carried out at separate stages of the study using a standardised diagnostic approach. As a result of the theoretical part of the study, the key aspects of the readiness of a figure skating instructor-teacher for professional activity were determined: motivational and value aspect; personal and organisational aspect; communicative and social aspect; practical aspect. The most effective mechanisms in increasing the level of competitiveness of coaches-teachers are educational programmes that purposefully influence the comprehensive improvement of all aspects of professional competence. As a result of the experimental study, a significant increase in effectiveness in all segments of professional activity was revealed. Activity within the profession showed a noticeable increase.
