PATRIOTIC EDUCATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE CLASSROOM VICTORIES IN THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR OF 1941-1945

Abstract. The article, based on the analysis of scientific literature and historical sources, solves the research task of identifying the lessons of the Great Victory as deducible knowledge from its historical heritage and defining in this context the priority tasks of patriotic education of youth. The main lessons of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 are summarized: the independence and sovereignty of the country requires the exertion of the efforts of the whole country; the victory was achieved largely due to the unity of the leadership of the country and the people, based on the just goals of the war; The great Victory was secured by the unity of the army and the people, the army and the rear; the victory was based on the high morale of the army, patriotism and heroism of the military personnel; broad reliance was made on historical memory, traditions of the people, continuity of generations; friendship of peoples, interethnic harmony were tested. In the patriotic education of young people in the lessons of the Great Victory, three interrelated tasks are identified as priority: preserving historical memory, protecting the historical truth about the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the Second World War; purposeful explanation of the lessons of the Great Victory; development of conscious patriotism among children and youth, preservation of the space of historical memory of the Great Patriotic War among youth as a social group. The lessons of the Great Victory provide an opportunity to better understand the origins of victory in the Great Patriotic War, to see the continuity of national state policy in those years and at the present time, and to develop patriotism and citizenship among young people. The important role of the lessons of the Great Victory in the patriotic education of Russian youth aims educational organizations, as a subject of education, in studying the history of the Great Patriotic War to focus not only on the chronology of events in this war, its world-historical significance, but also on the deductive knowledge of the significance of these lessons for the modern development of Russia, for the personal patriotic meanings of a young person.
