Abstract.  Social and legal competence is a flexible and multifaceted quality of personality that allows a person to actively participate in the social and legal life of society. It gives the opportunity to exercise one’s rights and obligations, as well as regulate one’s behavior in accordance with social and legal norms. This helps to successfully solve current problems in this area. In modern society, where social and legal institutions are constantly developing, the formation of such competence in adolescents becomes an important task for specialists. It is necessary to take into account the main problems that may arise in the process of forming social and legal competence .Socio-legal competence is formed based on the experience and activities of the highest school students. To this end, it is necessary to create conditions for high school students to show social and legal activity, since the acquisition of competencies is directly related to pedagogical innovations in the content, forms and technologies of education and training.
