Abstract. This article is devoted to the specifics and diversity of types of dialogue in art. It highlights such specifications of dialogue in art as its mediated nature, as the mediator is a text or a work of art, as well as the significant role of the subjective component in the dialogue in the form of personal cultural capital and resource of its subjects. This peculiar dialogue develops from internal dialogue to polylogue or internal dialogical communication with another person in external speech. The author emphasises that the creation of a work of art and the interpretation of its meanings are possible only from a dialogical position. In development of this idea in the content of the article on the basis of comprehension of dialogue concepts of M. Bakhtin, V. Bibler, M. Buber such types of dialogue as dialogue of the creator with his inner self, dialogue of the creator and the customer, bidirectional dialogue of the viewer and the creator/creator-viewer, creator and the creator, creator and the critic, viewer and the art critic, viewer and the art historian, viewers with each other are distinguished. It analyses the characteristics of each type and its specific manifestations in art. Attention is focused on the fact that the work of art, which is at the centre of their content, is a message to be decoded by a thoughtful viewer, either with or without special knowledge, the result of which is the acquisition of the personal meaning of the work by each participant. Based on the conducted research, the conclusion is formulated that as a result of a complex polystructural dialogue in art, a new cultural tradition is formed, the personal cultural context is enriched, and the aesthetic resource of a questioning personality is formed.

Keywords: dialogue, mediator, work of art, exteriorized and interiorized types of dialogue, symbolic language of dialogue, ambivalence, unified space, interpretation of meanings.
