DEVELOPMENT OF CREATIVE THINKING OF STUDENTS OF SECONDARY VOCATIONAL EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS WHEN STUDYING ECONOMIC DISCIPLINES

Abstract. The article is devoted to the issue of developing creative thinking of students of secondary vocational education institutions when studying economic disciplines. The pace of development of socio-economic life, information, communication and digital technologies have a significant impact on the requirements for graduates of both secondary vocational education and higher education. One of the most important competencies, in addition to professional ones, is the ability to think outside the box and outside the box. That is why, even in the process of receiving secondary or higher education, students should develop creative thinking. The article describes the main features, operations, abilities inherent in creative thinking, identified by domestic and foreign researchers. The author’s definition of creative thinking is formulated. The conditions that contribute to the formation and effective development of creative thinking when organizing the educational process in institutions of secondary vocational education are identified. Some of the tasks that can be used in the study of economic disciplines are considered in detail, such as: “Verbal association”; “Pros and cons”; “10+10”; “The Walt Disney Method”; “Consequences of the situation.” The results of a study of the level of development of creative thinking using the method of J. Bruner, conducted with students of the private non-profit professional educational institution “Pokrovsky Mining College” studying in the direction of training “Technical operation and maintenance of electrical and electromechanical equipment in the mining industry”, which showed the need for them to develop creative thinking. An example of using the “Mental Maps” method when studying the topic “Unemployment”, aimed at developing creative thinking, is described.
