Abstract. The main research is aimed at the formation of new approaches to the study of factors affecting the development of youth potential in the field of education. Such factors were the components of the student’s worldview: cognitive (cognitive) potential, axiological (value)potential and praxeo-logical (active) potential. The activity of young people in the selection of activities related to the formation of ideological characteristics was also studied. Methodology. An array of sociological information was processed with 16547 responses from respondents. Based on the existing answers, the semantics of the answers were reformatted for new goals and objectives. Statistical information and rating indicators “quality of life of the population” were added to the existing sociological information, to the database of respondents’ responses. Correlation analysis was used to identify the closeness of the relationship between the studied processes. An information and analytical platform for processing an array of big data has been developed. Results.  Numerical values were obtained for each worldview component: cognitive (cognitive), axiological (value) and praxeological (activity), which were calculated and had specific values, depending on the associated factor: regional, level of education, standard of living, choice of answer (from 1 to 5). The “activity index” was calculated in the same way. The obtained and systematized results made it possible to determine the directions of development of youth potential in the educational space. Two main directions were identified. One direction is associated with an increase in the significance ideological values in the youth education system, the second is due to the increase and attraction of the number of events providing high youth educational potential. A new formulation of youth potential was proposed. Conclusions. The development of youth potential is inextricably linked with the development of a youth worldview. Studies have shown the absence of quantitative dominance of young people who have a positive attitude to worldview values. Of course, the youth policy should be aimed at ensuring that young people clearly see the relationship between the possibilities of realizing their youth potential and its high ideological components.
