Abstract. The pedagogical model of the readiness of junior-year cadets of the military university to work on physical education of military personnel, developed and presented in the article, is aimed at developing the physical qualities of students. The model consists of content-methodological, procedural-activity and control-evaluative components, which are focused on improving physical fitness, working capacity, functional state of the body and increasing the effectiveness of educational activities of cadets of a military higher educational institution. The presented model has its own theoretical description: the pedagogical conditions necessary for the practical implementation of this model are substantiated; the need to create prerequisites for the manifestation of cadets’ activity in the process of physical education is shown; the principle of observance of gradualness in increasing physical activity of junior cadets has been substantiated. The necessity of taking into account the individual level of physical fitness of cadets is also substantiated, which requires the selection of objective criteria for assessing their mental and physical performance. It is shown that endurance, physical and mental working capacity of cadets with the use of the developed model of physical training significantly improved. The obtained results of the experimental verification of the developed pedagogical model testify to its high efficiency, as well as the readiness of young cadets to work on the physical education of military personnel.
