FEATURES OF ORGANIZATION AND CONDUCTING THE OLYMPIAD IN THE NATIVE LANGUAGE

Abstract. In a general education school, the Olympiad in an academic discipline is considered one of the most popular forms of organizing extracurricular work, one of the means of additional education that contributes to the activation of educational and cognitive activities of students, the development of their skills of independent work, especially students of primary school age. In this regard, the article is devoted to identifying the features, methods and techniques of organizing and holding the Olympiad in the native language in primary grades as an effective means of intellectual, creative development of primary schoolchildren, the formation of cognitive interest in the native language and literature, the development of educational motivation, the assimilation of basic linguistic concepts. : general language, speech, phonetic, spelling, morphological, syntactic, lexical. The article gives a number of recommendations on the methodology of conducting the Olympiad in the native language, presents the requirements for the structure and content of tasks of different levels of complexity, gives examples of the Olympiad tasks. Considering the fact that the cognitive abilities of students in the process of preparing for the Olympiad in any academic subject are significantly influenced by the age characteristics of children, the author pays special attention to the main factors that determine the further course of the intellectual and creative development of younger students. The purpose of preparing and holding the Olympiad in the native language is to form the cognitive interest of students in their native language; the development of regulatory, motivational and communicative universal learning activities; checking and assessing the ability to solve creative linguistic problems; assessment of the level of mastering of speech skills by students in their native language; development and strengthening of the creative potential of junior schoolchildren.
