 Abstract. The article deals with socio-pedagogical education as part of the social education of modern Russia. It is noted that social and pedagogical education was formed in our country as an independent direction of vocational training at the end of the 20th century. Analyzing the trends in the development of social and pedagogical education in modern Russia, we can conclude that at present there is a demand for the staff of social pedagogues. Today, social educators of different types of training are needed: for working with children of preschool age, in the system of additional education, for working with children and adolescents with disabilities. The development of territorial and environmental  programs for working with street children and adolescents, as well as volunteer programs that need professional guidance and support.
