Abstract. The article presents a theoretical and methodological understanding of the problem of the formation of information and communication readiness of cadets for research activities in the context of the digital transformation of military education. The necessity of a multi-paradigm integration of systemic, activity-based, competence-based and modular approaches as a methodological foundation for designing the modern educational process is substantiated. The positions of modern research teachers in the interpretation of the categories under consideration are considered – the methodological approach, pedagogical principles, philosophical, general scientific, specific scientific and special methodological approaches. The article reveals the specifics of pedagogical principles that act as mechanisms for the operationalization of these approaches and ensure the integrity, subjectivity and practice-oriented training of cadets. It is shown that information and communication readiness is interpreted as an integrative meta-competence formed in a reflexively organized, contextually rich and modularly structured educational environment. Corresponding pedagogical principles are systematized for each approach, ensuring the operationalization of theoretical provisions into the practice of designing the military educational process. The necessity of convergent application of the considered approaches as complementary methodological foundations ensuring the holistic, systematic and effective formation of the studied readiness in the context of the digital transformation of higher military education and advanced training of military specialists is substantiated. Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that the formation of information and communication readiness of cadets for research activities is a multidimensional and polysystem process that requires the integration of heterogeneous but complementary methodological foundations, but it is at the level of principles that the functionalization of theoretical postulates and their transformation into operational mechanisms of educational activity takes place. The introduction of the latest methodological approaches requires not only a change in strategy, but also the intensification of the development of new scientific and pedagogical principles that determine the content, organization and methodology of teaching.
