Abstract. In the context of modern economic theory, the behavior of economic actors is determined by their capacity to access and utilize knowledge as a critical resource. The economy based on knowledge is organized around several essential components: science, innovation, education, and the creative industries. Unlike traditional economic models that emphasized traditional factors of production, such as labor, capital, raw materials, and energy, the contemporary system emphasizes the significance of intangible assets in driving growth and enhancing competitiveness. There has been an expansion of the scope of industries integrated into the creative sector. A key feature of the creative economy is its capacity to generate novel ideas, add value, and produce unique goods and services. This capacity is driven by an increasing consumer demand for innovative solutions and customized products. Unlike traditional economic sectors, creative industries rely on intellectual resources, the creativity of human capital, and intangible assets. This sets them apart from the traditional economic model. The development of regions through the promotion of a creative economy presents significant opportunities for diversification of economic activity, attraction of investment, and creation of new jobs. The formation of creative associations in regions acts as a catalyst for innovation, attracting skilled professionals and entrepreneurs. These associations contribute to the growth of the tourism sector, enhancing the appeal of the region and fostering a unique regional identity. However, the growth of the creative economy in regions faces certain obstacles. Insufficient financial resources, a lack of skilled professionals, underdeveloped infrastructure, and limited market access can hinder the development of creative industries. To successfully develop the creative economy, it is essential to create an enabling environment that includes government assistance, improved educational systems, promotion of innovation, and facilitation of collaboration between creative businesses and other economic sectors. The integration of creative industries into existing economic structures, the support of local talent, and the development of unique creative projects can contribute to the formation of an authentic and competitive creative economy in the region, which can ensure stable economic growth and improve the living standards of the population.
Keywords: creative economy, creative industry, intellectual resources, cluster policy, diversification of economic activity, and the authenticity of the region’s creative economy.
