THE ROLE OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IN FAMILY EDUCATION

Abstract. The article reveals the pedagogical potential of digital transformation in family education, preservation of family values ​​and progressive traditions in the context of rapid development and implementation of digital resources and tools that open up new opportunities for parents to teach, educate and develop children who are fundamentally different from their peers brought up ten or more years ago. The authors substantiate the need for continuous education of parents in the field of digital technologies for a more effective solution of both current and strategic tasks of family education; proactive participation in planning the educational activities of an educational organization. Parents need to be provided with qualified support on issues of building effective relationships with children and mastering the mechanisms for protecting their rights as active participants in the educational process. The key role in the productive use of the pedagogical potential of digital technologies in family education belongs to parents. They must clearly understand: how to more successfully realize the pedagogical potential of digital transformation in family education; how to fill family traditions and events with positive emotions through digital resources and tools; how to establish boundaries between traditional approaches to educational activities and digital technologies; how to recognize and use information obtained from various sites. The success of the integration of traditional methods and approaches in family education with the capabilities of digital resources depends on the digital literacy of parents, the degree of understanding of the semantic content of social networks, the ability to keep up with the trends of the virtual space, and the readiness for self-education in the field of information and communication technologies.
