Abstract. In recent decades, researchers and practitioners have focused on finding ways to further realize the potential of automation and robotics in industrial production, in the provision of various services based on the use of joint (cooperative) forms of management. At the same time, a deep analysis of the state and development of individual labor associated with the energy costs of a particular person is almost forgotten. The view that scientific and technological progress, including artificial intelligence technology, will objectively and consistently solve all the problems of individual labor is erroneous. This article attempts to consider the main aspects of the manifestation and implementation of the economy of individual labor as a specific section of economic theory. The work draws attention to the disclosure of the essence of the economy of individual labor; highlighting the general and specific in individual labor and individual labor activity. The work also defines the historical and economic aspects of the development of individual labor activity (three periods are highlighted), the reasons for the surge in the growth of individual labor activity at the level of macroeconomics, microeconomics, features of the development of individual labor (individual labor activity) in the electric power industry. Attention is drawn to the analysis of the prospects for the development of individual labor (growth of individualization of needs; development of remote forms of production activities, etc.). It is noted that one unifying element of individual labor activity and individual labor is the use of manual (physical) labor. The article provides an analysis of the state of use of manual labor and proposes a hypothetical approach (method) for determining the share of manual labor in the national economy. According to the author, the disclosure and implementation of the potential of the economy of individual labor and related activities should become the most important direction in the state policy of various branches of government.
Keywords: individual labor, individual labor activity, manual labor, state program.
