FEATURES OF ADAPTATION OF FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS TO THE EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT OF THE UNIVERSITY

Abstract. The main tasks of higher education are aimed at stimulating the cognitive and personal activity of students in the educational process. In this regard, the successful adaptation of first-year students to the new educational environment of the university is of primary importance as a prerequisite for the success of further education. The purpose of the article is to study and disclose the features of adaptation of first-year students to the educational environment of the university. In the work, through the analysis of scientific and methodological literature on the problem of research, the features of adaptation of first-year students to the conditions of the educational environment of the university are considered. The article defines the essence of adaptation of first-year students to the educational environment of the university, socio-psychological and didactic features of adaptation, as well as factors influencing the adaptation process. The work presents a characteristic of the existing difficulties of adaptation of first-year students to the new educational environment. Special attention is paid to the didactic adaptation of first-year students as one of the main forms of adaptation to study in higher education. The results of the study can be used in the activities of the psychological service of the university. The scientific novelty of the study lies in identifying the problems of didactic adaptation and ways to overcome them.
