Abstract. The use of information technology in education opens up huge opportunities for improving the quality of learning, but it is also associated with a number of ethical issues. The article explores issues related to the ethical aspects of using information technology in an educational environment. The concepts of “ethics”, “value orientations”, “conscience”, “responsibility”, and “morality” are presented as norms that a subject follows in resolving situational contradictions when using information and communication technologies. The materials and methods of the research were a comprehensive analysis of theoretical and empirical works on this topic, as well as the study of philosophical, methodological, scientific, methodological, and specialized literature. The research results are presented in the article by the main ethical aspects in the context of information technology. These are accessibility and equality of students to all educational resources, regardless of social status, place of residence or financial opportunities; confidentiality and protection of personal data; protection of intellectual property and copyrights; plagiarism and academic honesty; ethics of online interaction; professional responsibility of teachers; safety of children on the Internet; dependence on Internet technologies, etc. In order to minimize the risks and maximize the benefits of using information technology in education, educational institutions are required to develop clear policies and standards regarding confidentiality, security, academic integrity, and other ethical aspects. Teachers and teachers should be responsible for the proper application of information technology in the educational process. They must have the necessary competencies to effectively use educational platforms and applications, as well as be able to adapt to new technologies. Using digital platforms requires the collection of a large amount of personal student data: grades, attendance, preferences, and biometric information. It is important to ensure that this information is protected from unauthorized access and abuse. Schools and universities are required to comply with laws on personal data protection.

Keywords: academic dishonesty, online interaction, confidentiality, digitalization of human relations, information security, ethical aspects, educational environment, digital transformation.
