Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of communication channels of the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure of Moscow and the population of Moscow. Despite the high level of organization of Moscow’s public transport system and road transport infrastructure, confirmed by many Russian and international studies, the degree of user satisfaction with the system remains insufficient. This revealed contradiction requires careful study and additional research of the built-up communication system of Moscow public transport management structures and road transport infrastructure. The analysis of modern theoretical approaches allows us to structure three types of communications: action, interaction and process. For the purposes of this study, a communicative model was applied that represents communication as a process, since its goal is not only to exchange information and achieve its adequate understanding, but also to interact in society between the subject and the object of communication. Modern executive authorities face the need for effective interaction with society, as well as the ability to provide information about their activities in a transparent and accessible manner. In this context, communications, including marketing and PR, play an important role in shaping the image of authorities in the eyes of the public. One of the objectives of the study was to classify and identify deficiencies in the content and channels of direct and reverse communication. The methodological basis of the research was the use of qualitative (interviews and focus groups) and quantitative (survey of respondents) research methods, as well as methods of comparison, analysis and synthesis. A ranking of the communication channels of the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of the city of Moscow with users of public transport and road transport infrastructure was carried out and some communication problems were identified.

Keywords: communication channels, marketing, public transport, road and transport infrastructure quantitative and qualitative research.
