Abstract. The article considers the toponymy of the Beloretsky district of the Republic of Bashkortostan as an object of natural and cultural heritage. The toponyms of the Bashkir people are unique, interesting and instructive for the residents of the republic, they contribute to the education of love for their native land, respect for our ancestors, for historical and cultural monuments. In the nomenclature of geographical terminology of any language, along with the terms of physical geography, a significant place is occupied by terms denoting various types of settlements: villages, cities, fortresses. The terms of dwellings and buildings, structures of economic, guard, military and other significance also took an active part in the formation of toponyms. It is their study that this work is devoted to. An integral part of Bashkir toponyms is the memory of the past, the living presence of tardis, reflected in the names of villages and natural monuments. The study of the toponyms of the area allows you to maintain a link between generations. By studying the history of our people, our small Homeland, and reviving national traditions and customs, we cultivate a sense of pride and pride in our people and region. Toponymic research helps us better understand “who we are and where we came from”.
