Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of the role of contextual learning technology in a digital educational environment, built on the basis of the gradual saturation of the educational process with elements of practice-oriented professional activity. For the successful interaction of participants in the educational process, the author proposes the organization of educational and cognitive activities based on the technology of contextual learning. The main idea of contextual learning is the maximum integration of theory, practice and production, in accordance with which the assimilation of social experience is carried out as a result of active, creative activity of students. The author of the article characterizes the educational activities of students, carried out on the basis of distance learning using contextual learning, as one of the effective ways to improve the digital educational environment, in which the subject and social components of professional activity are gradually modeled. The implementation of contextual learning contributes to the maximum convergence of the content and process of educational and cognitive activities of students to their future profession. Thus, the conditions for the transformation of the student’s educational activity into the professional activity of a specialist are improved. Practice has shown that today there is an objective need for the regular use of digital technologies. Therefore, the entire teaching staff must be ready to form a digital educational environment in any educational institution. Based on the scientific and pedagogical analysis of various approaches to this problem, it was revealed that contextual learning is one of those technologies for the implementation of digital educational resources that are focused on the professional training of students and are implemented through the systematic use of the professional context, as well as the gradual saturation of the educational process with elements of professional activity.
