Abstract. The current development of the economic sector is characterized by the presence of “uncertainty”, which is associated with various external and internal factors that can have both a favorable and adverse impact on the sustainable development of the organization. As well as increasing consumer requirements for the quality of the delivered goods and the process of providing services, it leads to the need to search for new management mechanisms, including in the field of risk management. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to identify approaches to risk management. The article substantiates the importance of implementing a risk management system in the organization’s activities, which will increase efficiency and take a stable position in the market. The risks of various organizations in the service sector (catering companies and organizations that provide pharmaceutical services) are identified, and approaches to their assessment are proposed. Based on the risk assessment, measures to eliminate and minimize them are proposed. Implementation of these measures will allow organizations to improve the overall management system, increase efficiency, and ensure sustainable development by reducing the likelihood of risks and minimizing the cost of eliminating them.
