Abstract. The development of agriculture in Germany is characterized by the widespread use of industrial production methods, the intensity of the concentration of production and capital, the presence of small but powerful agro-industrial complexes. This industry provides a high level of per capita food consumption with a relatively low share of its costs in the structure of public spending. In the sectoral structure of agriculture, animal husbandry prevails over crop production. The industrialization of agricultural production was prepared by an active investment policy and turned agriculture into a very capital-intensive sector of the economy. Agriculture is characterized by high saturation technique. The effect of intensive factors is increasing, which reflects the General trend towards the transition of the economy to the resource-saving direction of technological progress.
