Abstract. The article notes that physical training is used as a means of developing and improving physical and mental qualities and enhancing the health of military personnel in military schools. It is indicated that systematic physical exercises and sports contribute to the development and improvement of the physical and mental qualities of military personnel. In the process of physical training, not only vital skills and abilities are formed, but also special qualities necessary for the cadet and student in the implementation of future military professional activities. Vital skills are natural forms of motor activity in walking, running, skiing, swimming, throwing objects, etc., which provide purposeful active human activity in the natural environment. However, the physical qualities of a person can be most fully and rationally used if he is trained in motor actions. As a result of movement training, a person develops motor skills. At the same time, future military specialists need to possess specific physical data (skills), in accordance with the professional and military tasks performed. Physical and military-professional readiness of a serviceman depends on many conditions and factors. Among them, there are several main, “leading” factors that most determine its specific manifestation: contractile features of the neuromuscular apparatus, i.e., speed and power capabilities of the motor system; features of movement coordination; bioenergetic capabilities of the body; power and stability of the vegetative systems to ensure motor activity; technique of performing its motor actions( DD); tactics of solving motor tasks in the course of its sports or professional activities; mental preparation, motivation, will, endurance, self-control, etc. In their organic totality, these factors create an ideal model of psychophysical readiness of military personnel to perform complex military-professional tasks.

Keywords: physical exercises and sports, physical culture, physical and mental qualities, military personnel, students and cadets, military educational institutions, mental and moral-volitional qualities, psychophysical training, psychophysical training, formation, military professional activity.
