Abstract. Thearticle examines the functioning of youth mass media as an environment for the socialization and education of the young and the younger generation. It is an urgent problem in modern conditions of transformation and transformation of the media environment. The purpose of this article is to identify the features of the educational impact of regional youth publications on the example of specific projects in the media space of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The article analyzes the historical and modern experience of journalism aimed at a young audience from 7 to 25 years old. The process is based on a systematic analysis of materials from different years and a content analysis of various publications aimed at young people. Using the example of publications such as the Bashkir-language republican youth newspaper Yeshlek, as well as Internet portals and social media groups that broadcast youth issues in the region, it is possible to follow the demonstration of the practice of forming civic identity, patriotism, and respect for the cultural heritage of the peoples of Bashkortostan in the younger generation. In addition, the article contains recommendations on the development of youth media, including digitalization, integration with educational institutions, and support for young authors. This work highlights the bilingual nature of the regional media system, namely, the educational potential is considered through the prism of preserving the culture of the native language, national traditions and establishing a link between generations. The latter, in turn, allows us to strengthen the continuity between generations, as well as the heroes of different times. The article emphasizes that young people are not passive consumers of content and proves that the effectiveness of the educational function of youth media directly depends on the use of interactive formats (challenges, contests and projects) and the involvement of teenagers themselves in the creation of various media materials. In addition, the issue of digitalization of paper publications is touched upon. The transition to a more modern format of publications, articles, and the like makes it possible to maintain the popularity of magazines and newspapers, as well as expand the readership among young people.
