Abstract. This article explores the pedagogical potential of the family and family education in shaping moral and ethical values in children. It is within the family that children develop concepts of social responsibility, encounter norms of behavior for the first time, learn basic moral values, develop their own moral compass, and become familiar with timeless spiritual values. Parents’ worldviews, their attitudes toward various phenomena and events, and their beliefs are gradually absorbed by the child, shaping their own worldview. Children often imitate the behavior of adults, so it is important for parents to demonstrate moral values through their actions and deeds, not just through instructions and moralizing. If parents’ words and actions diverge, children may become confused. By observing their parents’ reactions to various situations and their attitudes toward themselves and others, children develop their own understanding of compassion, care, and empathy. Discussing ethical issues within the family helps develop moral values and foster a conscious attitude toward the world around us. The well-being of not only the individual child but also the health of society as a whole depends on the harmonious and moral development of the family. Indeed, it is in families where justice and respect prevail that people grow up who are capable of building a better future for themselves and for everyone around them. This article presents the results of a pedagogical study conducted using a questionnaire, which served as the empirical basis for the article.
