Abstract. This scientific work attempts to present the author’s vision of the role of socialization in shaping the value orientations of adolescents in children’s health camps. The priority direction of state national policy in the field of improving upbringing is the integration of proven educational practices and modeling productive ideas, followed by the implementation of regulatory, legal, organizational, and strategic decisions. A children’s health camp serves as a platform where solutions are implemented to improve upbringing in the context of creating an educational environment [1]. The modeling of a unified educational and upbringing environment is based on state programs and regulatory acts aimed at developing the personality of adolescents. The key document defining the principles of organizing upbringing work is the Federal Program for Upbringing, which is integrated with educational programs in a seamless manner. The introduction of common standards for the spiritual and moral development of children in country-wide children’s camps obligates the administration and counselors to: focus on key aspects of the main directions “Peace, Russia, Man” when developing calendar and thematic plans; develop thematic shifts using various formats (quizzes, quests, competitions, sports festivals, and others), taking into account the age and psychological characteristics of children; ensure a seamless educational process “school – children’s camp” during the vacation period. Among the diverse organizations that shape the sociocultural space, children’s camps possess resources for communication, creative self-expression, and personal growth. Organizers of children’s camps create a sociocultural space that integrates leisure, entertainment, socialization, spiritual and moral values, and principles of a healthy lifestyle for the comprehensive development of the younger generation. Leisure activities serve as a tool for socialization and personal development. During leisure time, basic moral and cultural attitudes are acquired, and objective values transform into subjective life priorities. The article proposes a model for the formation of adolescents’ value orientations using the example of a children’s health camp. At the core of the model is the content component of the educational potential, which includes the socialization process and educational relationships within collective activities. The means of implementing the educational potential influence the formation of stable value orientations in adolescents in the context of a children’s health camp.
