Abstract. Developing motivation for career self-determination in high school students today is a pressing and important issue requiring a special approach. Career self-determination is a complex, multidimensional process, which, in modern science, is a key element of personal development in high school. During these stages of personal development, life plans, values, worldview, and a conscious attitude toward the future are managed, where choosing a career is not simply an act of choosing a specialty, but an existential approach that determines the trajectory of further development. Motivation for career self-determination is both a theoretical and practical issue and has fascinated many researchers. On the one hand, there are a number of activities conducted by homeroom teachers to facilitate career choice. On the other hand, high school students lack a clear sense of their career path. The relevance of this study lies in the need to analyze the current state of motivation for career self-determination in high school students, the factors influencing its development, and the development of approaches for its development. Senior school age is a crucial period in which the foundations for future professional development are laid. The aim of this study is to explore the paths and methods for developing motivation for professional self-determination in senior school students. The author analyzes the essence of motivation for professional self-determination. Theoretical methods were used: literature analysis of case studies, modeling; empirical methods: formative experiment, testing, and statistical data processing methods, including the Wilcoxon t-test. This study clarifies, expands, and systematizes scientific understanding of motivation for professional self-determination, and identifies the causes and reasons for the manifestation of motivation for professional self-determination in senior school age. The author proposes a program for developing motivation for professional self-determination in senior school students in a psychology and pedagogical class, and provides practical recommendations for teachers, parents, and school psychologists. This article is practice-oriented and can be used in the practical work of teachers and educational psychologists.

Keywords: professional self-determination, student, self-determination, psychological and pedagogical class, motivation, class teacher, educational psychologist.
