Abstract. This article examines the feasibility and effectiveness of using virtual reality technologies in training future physics teachers, using the “Electricity VR” VR application developed at Blagoveshchensk State Pedagogical University as an example. The study was conducted in 2025. Sixteen students majoring in 44.03.05 “Pedagogical Education” (majors in Physics and Computer Science) participated in the pilot study. Eight students formed the experimental group, and eight formed the control group. The article presents an analysis of the pedagogical potential of a virtual laboratory for assembling and studying DC electrical circuits, implemented in the Unity environment, and also describes the organizational and methodological features of its implementation in the curriculum for the discipline “Physics Teaching Methods.” The study describes the stages of student work in the experimental group: mastering the functionality of the VR application, developing and delivering lesson fragments on the topics “Current Sources,” “Electrical Measuring Instruments,” and “Ohm’s Law,” and completing a lab assignment using the ammeter and voltmeter method to determine conductor resistance. A comparative analysis of the final testing results was conducted, which included two sections: subject-based (knowledge of DC electrical circuits) and methodological (proficiency in teaching methods for this topic). It was found that students in the experimental group demonstrated higher average scores in both sections compared to the control group. This positive trend demonstrates the feasibility of integrating VR technologies into physics teacher training, provided they are combined with traditional experiential learning. Prospects for further research related to assessing the long-term effects of virtual reality and developing methodological recommendations for its implementation in the school physics curriculum are outlined.
