Abstract. The development of the theory of social education follows the path of determining the specifics of this process for different audiences and different educational systems, developing special pedagogical tools. The authors proceed from the fact that social education is inherently invariable, however, it is historically and culturally determined, reflects the specifics of a specific educational system. Solving similar problems of social education, cadet education is significantly different from ordinary schools, the tools of social education cadet requires theoretical justification. The purpose of the study was to identify the key problems of social education of the cadet that orient modern research. To solve the research problems, the problematization method was applied. The first level of problematization is due to cultural and civilizational changes, the emergence of a new digital reality and a “digital” child. The second level of problematization is associated with the continuous reform of educational systems, including the cadet education system. Through cadet education, the army, like every social institution, contributes to the socialization of younger generations. The third level reflects the specific conditions of the cadet education itself: the environment, social community, leading activities. The empirical basis of problematization was the results of a sociocultural analysis of the current situation. The statement of problems is justified: the formation of social norms, the development of social roles and behavior models in conditions of partial social isolation; overcoming the risks of socialization and eliminating the deficits of social experience; creation of a social elevator in cadet education. The results presented in the article can be used by researchers of cadet education, organizers of scientific and methodological work in cadet educational organizations.
