Abstract. The formation of the professional culture of a future specialist plays an important role in the higher school education system. Professional culture is an integrative quality, important for all spheres, which acts as a marker of professionalism. The purpose of the study is to analyze the essence of the concept of professional culture of a specialist in natural sciences and to determine the role and place of a foreign language course in shaping the culture of a naturalist.  As an empirical research base, we have chosen the system of training students of natural sciences at Ryazan State University named after S.A. Yesenin.  The research methods were: studying the experience of domestic and foreign teachers in order to analyze the issue; observation, conversation, as well as online questionnaires, online surveys, and rankings.  A three-component structure based on a humanistic approach, selection of a set of pedagogical stimuli, closely interrelated methods, forms and educating techniques aimed at the development of the cognitive knowledge system of natural sciences, the system of organizational and activity operations of a future scientist and the system of spiritual values are considered as a model for the formation of the professional culture of a specialist in natural sciences by means of a foreign language. Pedagogical technologies have been chosen as effective incentives to promote the development of communicative competencies of foreign-language professional communication among students of natural sciences and the creation of favorable psychological and pedagogical conditions for the development and formation of communicative competence and professional culture among future specialists.  The significance of the work lies in clarifying the concept of professional culture of a specialist in natural sciences, in identifying pedagogical conditions and incentives in the process of teaching a foreign language that contribute to the development of this quality.
