Abstract. This article provides a thorough theoretical analysis of the mechanisms underlying the formation and development of human capital among students in secondary vocational educational institutions. Particular attention is given to dual education as a promising and innovative method that has the potential to significantly transform the educational process. The need for such research stems from the urgent need in the modern labor market for competent specialists who not only possess in-depth knowledge but also effectively apply it in practice. The study provides a detailed analysis and systematization of the key components of human capital. These include not only professional knowledge and skills but also such important aspects as creativity, social skills, and a number of personal characteristics, such as the ability to work independently and a commitment to continuous improvement. The authors convincingly demonstrate the potential of the dual education model, which allows for the harmonious combination of the theoretical foundation acquired in college with practical experience gained directly in the workplace. Based on the analysis, a conceptual model was developed and detailed. Its goal is to develop in students a set of competencies necessary for successful professional careers. The key factors for the model’s effectiveness are the joint commitment of the educational institution and employer to ensure high-quality training, as well as the genuine interest and engagement of students in the learning process. The findings and results of the study have significant practical value and can serve as a foundation for the creation of new teaching materials and guidelines. This, in turn, will optimize the secondary vocational education system and elevate the training of young professionals to a new level.
