THE IMPORTANCE OF STUDENTS’ RESEARCH LABORATORIES IN A MODERN UNIVERSITY (ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE THEORY AND METHODS OF TEACHING LABORATORY)

Abstract. Contemporary realities are such that society is undergoing a number of transformations, including in the field of education. The university sector is no exception. Universities must produce high-quality, in-demand specialists with a range of competencies that enable them to make complex decisions, assume responsibility for them, possess teamwork skills, and be able to engage in research. All of these characteristics make graduates true professionals in their field, competitive, effective, and adaptable to changing realities. In this context, the educational process is of utmost importance. It takes place not only within the university classroom but also extends beyond it in one way or another, allowing students to broaden their horizons, develop their thinking, enhance their creativity, demonstrate initiative, and explore a particular scientific phenomenon or topic in depth, all while shaping and developing the research competencies of modern students. The relevance of this study lies in the urgent need to introduce student research laboratories into university practice. Their operation is aimed at improving the research competencies of modern university students and, consequently, training high-quality specialists in demand by society. The subject of this study is the specific features of student research laboratories within the structure of a modern university. The scientific novelty of this work lies in the proposed recommendations for the effective organization of student research and creative work within these laboratories. The practical significance of this work lies in the application of these developments and recommendations to the activities of student research laboratories at universities in the modern context.
