Abstract. Introduction. This article explores the application of the Assessment Centre as a tool for the comprehensive evaluation of project competencies among university faculty, impacting team building. It also assesses the indicator of “self-efficacy,” related to the ability of teachers to integrate into and create communities based on shared values of university development. The purpose of the article is to utilize the Assessment Centre methodology to define an individual approach to creating project teams in a pedagogical university and, through empirical research, to substantiate the influence of the new employee adaptation process on project activities. This topic is currently relevant due to the development of “human-centricity” from the perspective of assessing and developing employee competencies.Methodology and research methods. Numerous scientific studies emphasize the relevance of team building as a personnel development tool aimed at fostering a type of interpersonal interaction that reveals employees’ potential through collaborative activities to achieve corporate goals. There is a wide variety of team formation methods: business games, team challenges, creative, project-based, and other methods. The advantage of using the Assessment Centre, according to its validity coefficient of 0.65, is notable compared to other tools: professional tests (0.54), aptitude tests (0.53), behavioral interviews (0.48), personality questionnaires (0.39), biographical data (0.38), recommendations (0.23), and traditional unstructured interviews (0.19). Several key characteristics ensure the predictive capabilities of the Assessment Centre method: it is a comprehensive, standardized method involving multiple measurements, specially trained observers, and a clearly organized procedure.Research results. Within our research, the Assessment Centre method is used to assess and identify the level of development of project competencies and the faculty’s ability for self-efficacy evaluation. In the context of corporate training, this method has a specific focus, determined by the challenges of transformational changes in educational systems. It is designed to address a specific problem – that of organizational development in the higher education system and in the project-based transformation activities of collective subjects participating in strategic sessions.Conclusion. For the successful and stable functioning of an educational organization, employees must work in a coordinated and highly efficient manner. Currently, it is particularly important to form a team of motivated employees with shared aspirations to achieve set goals, ensuring high productivity of the “change team” within the university’s transformational processes.
