Abstract. The relevance of the study is due to the introduction of the academic discipline “Fundamentals of Russian Statehood” and the specifics of training specialists in the field of communications, for which it is advisable to combine traditional lecture formats with practical ones. There is a demand for integrating theoretical knowledge about the state, law, and civic identity into the practical toolkit of future advertisers and PR managers. The purpose of this article is to provide a theoretical basis for a practice-oriented teaching model of this discipline aimed at developing professionally significant competencies. The research methodology includes a theoretical analysis of pedagogical and scientific literature, a questionnaire survey of students to identify educational needs, and a case-study method. The research methodology includes a theoretical analysis of pedagogical and scientific literature, a questionnaire survey of students to identify educational needs, a case-study method, and a project approach. The central case tested in the work was the organization of an exhibition by students in the context of the discipline “Fundamentals of Russian Statehood,” which required them to apply their knowledge of cultural codes and state symbols in a range of PR tasks, from developing a concept and SMM support to conducting the event and analyzing its effectiveness. The results of the study are presented in the form of a structured learning model, the key element of which is the translation of the theoretical content of the course into the field of practical professional tasks. It has been proven that such a transformation increases students’ motivation, promotes deep learning, and develops the skills necessary for creating socially responsible and civically mature communication campaigns. The findings confirm that the implementation of practice-oriented methods, such as project activities and case studies, is a necessary condition for the successful integration of the Fundamentals of Russian Statehood discipline into the training of highly qualified specialists in advertising and public relations.

Keywords: pedagogical methods, technologies, professional training, future public relations specialists, and practice-oriented education.
