Abstract. The changes occurring in society’s socioeconomic life have a significant impact on education. Each level of education (preschool, primary general, basic general, secondary general, secondary vocational, and higher) is subject to this influence to varying degrees. The article examines the main problems faced by higher education institutions in training labor (technology) teachers. These include: insufficient updating of educational programs; limited practical experience of students; lack of an interdisciplinary approach; the need for continuous professional development of university teachers. Each of the listed problems is described in detail, and possible solutions to each of them are described. In order to solve the first problem, a correlation was made between the mandatory modules of the school curriculum “Labor” (grades 1-4) and the disciplines of the curriculum of the training program 44.03.05 – Pedagogical education (with two profiles), the profile “Technology”, the profile “Design”, as well as the correlation of the compulsory modules of the school curriculum “Labor” (grades 5-9) with the disciplines of the curriculum of the training program 44.03.05 – Pedagogical education (with two profiles), profile “Technology”, profile “Design”. To address the second problem, the following approaches have been proposed: organizing and conducting off-site master classes for students at enterprises in the real sector of the economy; organizing internships at modern venues such as IT Cube, Growth Point, Quantorium, etc.; and organizing student expeditions. To address the third issue, it is proposed to engage students in project-based activities and work in interdepartmental laboratories. To address the fourth issue, it is proposed to create a system of continuous professional development, implement incentive mechanisms, and establish corporate university personnel development centers.

Keywords: teacher training, labor (technology), pedagogical core, innovative technologies, interdisciplinary approach.
