Abstract. Tourist and local history activities are one of the sources that form the need for schoolchildren to get to know their region. The school geography curriculum provides for obligatory excursions or camping trips, where specific geographical phenomena and processes are studied. Thanks to this work, pupils develop the ability to collect, analyze, summarize and process the data obtained. One of the main results of such activities is the realization by pupils of the necessity of careful attitude to their native nature. Studying the geography of one’s native land has an important local history value, as it helps to understand and appreciate the unique natural and geographical features of the area. Exploring their neighborhood in geography lessons allows students to deepen their knowledge of the place where they live. Also, a geographical overview of their home area in geography lessons helps pupils to develop a deeper understanding of their local area and its unique natural and cultural features. The article gives a detailed characteristic of the territory of Sterlibashevsky district of the Republic of Bashkortostan, where the research object is located, and also reveals the specific features of the organization of a trip to the historical and geological object – Gulumov adit. Gulumovskie adits are of considerable interest both for scientists geologists, historians, local historians, and for the local population, students. Such events allow: to deepen knowledge on geography, geology, local lore, to touch the historical roots of their homeland, as it is a special complex of concentration of mining, historical, cultural and natural heritage, the mine field will disappear, and valuable information about it can be found only in historical documents. This object will also be of interest to lovers of archaeological tourism, giving the opportunity to take part in excavations and discovery of valuable artifacts under the guidance of professionals.
