Abstract. The article describes the author’s “Technology of meaningful work with video content” in the process of its application in history lessons in basic school, its methodological and scientific justification, the main components of this particular-methodological strategy, bringing it closer to the TRCMCHP, as well as testing this educational practice in a Moscow school. This technique is implemented by filling in the gaps in structured notes while students watch educational video resources. The purpose of this study is to offer the pedagogical community a specialized methodological strategy for developing critical thinking skills in students through meaningful interaction with video materials. The objectives of the study include: demonstrating the potential of conscious work with video materials in history lessons by filling in structured notes; developing such notes for use with video materials in lessons in basic school; presenting the results of implementing this strategy in the educational process in basic school. The methodological basis of the study includes both theoretical and empirical methods, which allows for a more in-depth consideration of the essence of the technology of meaningful work with video content. As a result of applying this methodology in the educational process, it was revealed that the use of reference notes contributes to a high level of assimilation of the material and increases motivation for learning. The article demonstrates in practice how the technology was tested in groups of students of different grades, including the use of various videos and documentaries, which confirms its versatility and relevance. The conclusion summarizes the work carried out, noting that this methodological strategy contributes not only to improving educational results, but also to the formation of a responsible approach to learning in schoolchildren.
