Abstract. The field of education is undergoing transformational changes due to the rapid introduction of technology into pedagogical practice. In the age of dynamic changes, it becomes necessary to revise traditional teaching methods and explore innovative approaches that not only arouse students’ interest, but also contribute to a deeper understanding of complex subjects. Since traditional teaching methods are not always able to capture the attention of modern students, this study examines the implementation of innovative project-based approaches in the biology curriculum. The article discusses the relevance and impact of project-based technologies in biology teaching to enrich the learning experience and improve student outcomes. It explores the processes of integrating project methods into biology courses in order to improve the overall level of students’ knowledge, as well as identifies and analyzes such problems as insufficient teacher training, lack of clear methodology, and overestimation of the importance of projects. To solve these problems, prospects for the development of project-based learning, including the use of virtual (VR) and augmented reality (AR) for interactive laboratory modeling, are proposed. In addition, the application of artificial intelligence and big data technologies for the analysis of biological information, as well as the use of cloud technologies for the organization of collaborative projects is considered. Special attention is focused on developing students’ critical thinking skills, independent information retrieval, and teamwork. Implementation of such approaches allows not only to improve academic results, but also to prepare students to solve real scientific problems, which is especially important in the conditions of rapid development of biotechnologies and environmental challenges.
