Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of the natural and economic basis for the development of the Ufa region of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The paper analyzes the key natural resources of the region, including land, water and mineral resources, as well as their impact on socio-economic development. Special attention is paid to agriculture as the main area of land use, as well as industrial production related to the extraction and processing of mineral resources such as oil and gas. The authors review the current state of the agro-industrial complex, identify its strengths and weaknesses, and offer specific recommendations for optimizing production processes, which can help improve the efficiency and competitiveness of this sector. The article also touches on important environmental aspects related to the sustainable use of natural resources. The authors emphasize the need to switch to environmentally friendly technologies and the introduction of modern practices, which is key to ensuring environmental conservation and maintaining the health and well-being of the district’s population. At the end of the article, the prospects for the development of the district are emphasized, emphasizing the importance of integrating natural resources into the strategy of economic growth and improving the quality of life of the population. Attracting investments in infrastructure, developing tourism potential and creating new jobs are suggested as key factors for achieving sustainable socio-economic development. The results of this study may be valuable for government agencies, entrepreneurs, and the scientific community interested in the sustainable development of the region, as well as for developing effective strategies for managing natural resources. It is important to note that the successful implementation of the above measures will not only stimulate economic development, but also increase the well-being of residents.
