Abstract. The article explores the potential for cultivating entrepreneurial competencies among medical students, drawing on the instructional experience of delivering the course Innovative Economics and Technological Entrepreneurship at Tyumen State Medical University. The study presents the outcomes of a student survey aimed at assessing both the perceived development of entrepreneurial competencies and subjective readiness for entrepreneurial activity. The primary objective is to examine the feasibility of embedding entrepreneurial competencies into medical education through the implementation of a specialized educational program. The specific aims of the research are as follows: to map the current scientific discourse on the integration of entrepreneurship into medical training; to design and pilot an educational module tailored to medical students; and to evaluate students’ perceptions regarding the relevance of entrepreneurial skills and their self-assessed preparedness for entrepreneurial engagement. Methodologically, the study employs bibliometric analysis, instructional design grounded in a competency-based approach, and empirical data collection via questionnaire. The authors highlight a growing scholarly interest in the pedagogical frameworks and institutional conditions that facilitate the formation of entrepreneurial competencies in the medical education context. The proposed educational intervention integrates individual and collaborative learning formats. The article provides a detailed overview of the course structure, including the thematic syllabus, the design of practical assignments, and a critical reflection on both successful and less effective student experiences. Findings from the student survey reveal the entrepreneurial competencies deemed most valuable by learners, key motivational drivers for engaging in entrepreneurship, and primary barriers perceived by students. The study concludes that the proposed educational program holds promise for addressing an emerging and underexplored need in medical education, while also acknowledging its inherent limitations and contextual constraints.
