Abstract. The article examines the use of speech supports in the organization of educational and communicative activities of university students. Educational support is usually understood as a formed model of educational activity, the content of which can be implemented in different ways, depending on the means and methods of cognitive activity of students. The support is a “folding” subject content of the speech of the participants in the dialogue. It limits the area of the student’s search activity, forms a vector of mental activity, and focuses attention on the priority characteristics of the subject of the conversation. A well-formulated educational support reduces the risk of psychological stress of students, the number of erroneous or uncertain answers. The mental processes of forming and formulating ideas, perceiving and generating speech are easier if the student relies on his own speech or life experience. It is with the presentation of support that reflection, reasoning, and the search for the right answers begin. In the learning system, supports gradually and consistently contribute to the transformation of students’ knowledge into skills. Methodical interpretation of the educational material carefully selected by the teacher cannot do without the preparation of reference material, especially at the reproductive stage of communicative activity. The highlighted principles of the development of supporting materials and their variety do not exhaust the illumination of the support as a methodological concept in the scientific literature, which determines the relevance of the work. The purpose of the article is to present the results of the use of educational supports that contribute to the development of students’ dialogic speech skills. The object of the study is the classroom work of students in the context of an educational dialogue. The subject of the research is the reference speech material in the educational dialogue. The scientific novelty of the research consists in the methodological selection, justification and application of lexical speech supports, in the formulation of features and parameters to test the effectiveness of the proposed techniques.
Keywords: educational dialogue, speech task, educational support, speech support, verbal support.
