the school curriculum, which is studied from seventh to eleventh grade. One hour per week is allocated for studying this subject. As part of this subject, students study elements of combinatorics, probability theory and statistics. Particular attention should be paid to the combinatorics section, as it allows you to expand knowledge about the problem itself, the process of solving it, possible solutions and characteristics of this problem. Allows you to see and calculate all possible combinations of combinations of different variants of elements that satisfy certain conditions. The article is devoted to the current problem of identifying methodological features of teaching schoolchildren the elements of combinatorics within the framework of the educational course “Probability and Statistics”, which is studied in the ninth and tenth grades. The purpose of this article is to describe the methodological features of building the educational process when studying the elements of combinatorics. Within the framework of the article, an algorithm for considering the solution of a combinatorial problem is described. The process of creating a configuration for a specific problem is described, which allows you to quickly and accurately determine the combinatorial formula that needs to be applied to this specific problem being solved. The process of solving three different combinatorial problems using a configuration is described in detail (a system of three questions: “Out of how many?”; “Is the order important?”; “Is the order important?”). The practical significance of the work lies in a detailed description of the process of constructing a configuration to determine the combinatorics formula for solving combinatorial problems.
Keywords: methodological features, mathematics, combinatorics, combinatorial formulas.
