ENRICHING THE CONTENT OF THE PROCESS OF SPIRITUAL AND MORAL DEVELOPMENT OF FUTURE PRESCHOOL TEACHERS WITH CLASSICAL PEDAGOGICAL HERITAGE

Abstract. The article presents the main negative trends occurring in modern society, which generally indicates the presence of a spiritual crisis. Attention is emphasised on the importance of spiritual and moral development and formation of personality as one of the most important ways of overcoming the spiritual crisis. The significance of spiritual and moral development of preschool teacher – the first professional educator in the life of a child, one of whose tasks is to introduce him to the spiritual culture of mankind, the formation of moral knowledge, values, feelings and behaviour is emphasized. The purpose of the study is, based on the analysis of classical pedagogical heritage, to identify the essence and features of the process of spiritual and moral development of a teacher, a number of professional and personal qualities and characteristics as a result of this process.  In order to increase the effectiveness of spiritual and moral development, it is proposed to use the potential of theatre pedagogy in the educational process in the training of teachers of the direction of “Preschool Education” with the use of a variety of pedagogical forms and methods that contribute to improving not only acting skills, but also to give professional training a spiritual and moral orientation. The article focuses on the peculiarities of the activity of the theatre studio «Light of the Soul» functioning at the Department of Preschool Education of FSBEU VO «LSPU». A number of theatrical productions created on the basis of literary works, scientific and religious texts, bearing spiritual and moral values, are presented. The results of the study can be useful for use in the professional training of preschool teachers and for improving the professional competence of practicing teachers.
