Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of the problem of professional training of students – future teachers of their native language and literature for pedagogical activities using the example of the Ossetian language and literature; the features of preparation for educational activities of future teachers of the Ossetian language and literature are considered. The authors of the article prove the thesis that modeling the pedagogical education of students in the conditions of a national region must be carried out taking into account the ethnocultural orientation of the indigenous population living in this region in order to ensure a favorable socio-psychological climate. One of the main problems that students have to overcome is the desire of students to liken the system and units of the Ossetian language to the Russian language, which causes numerous errors in their native speech, as well as in mastering the methods of teaching the Ossetian language and literature. We checked the degree of readiness of students to teach the Ossetian language and literature using the following indicators: students’ readiness to develop students’ reading and analysis skills of texts from Ossetian literature; the ability to improve the practice of writing and writing in the Ossetian language among students, to compare the lexical units of the two languages to understand the similarities and differences that exist in the Russian and Ossetian languages; the ability to develop dialogue skills in the Ossetian language, the formation of strong speech skills; skills in teaching listening, understanding speech and working with literature, semantization of new lexical units; the ability to use innovative pedagogical technologies in the process of teaching the Ossetian language and literature; skills in teaching students to participate in discussions and express their thoughts clearly and convincingly.
