Abstract. Vocal art requires high professional skills from the singer and vocal teacher. In addition to a powerful voice filled with different colors, a sophisticated technique, a correct understanding of the musical form of the work, aesthetic taste and the ability to reveal all these qualities directly in the stage performance are needed. In the process of professional training of singers, an important role is given to the formation of vocal skills. The formation of vocal talent and its functioning still remain a largely unsolved area of musical pedagogy. Voice capabilities remain hidden from direct observation, they cannot be adjusted or tuned as easily as other musical instruments. One of the important indicators of the performer’s competitiveness is also vocal and speech training, which is primarily manifested in the performance of vocal compositions in the original language, which necessitates appropriate training. And the teacher is required to be able to convey his knowledge and skills to students. This article is devoted to the importance of domestic vocal methods of voice training in the twentieth century. The author examined domestic vocal methods of famous vocal teachers of the twentieth century, such as: V.M. Lukanin, L.B. Dmitriev, V.P. Morozov. An attempt was made to analyze pedagogical methods and scientific achievements that allow a vocal teacher and student to find the most convenient and shortest path in the formation of a professional singing voice.
